Muhafiz is the story of motherhood. Mother the shadow of GOD that creates and protects life across the universe.
Muhafiz is the story of a widowed mother with three grown up sons, and an a physical sense the sons maybe considered as Muhafiz to an old lady but in the meta physical sense the mom is the protector of the children, no matter how big and strong they may be. Muhafiz is the story of conflict between good and evil and the evil is a spirit that is played by the camera.” Camera as character”
The story of Muhafiz is spread over two days and three nights. The story starts at “Fajr” with a mother praying. The sons dress up and leave for work, the mom receives some guests at the airport, two girls and their father, old family friends. The mother is looking for a match for her son, some girl with the right value system to take over as the Muhafiz of the next generation.
After dinner the younger lot starts playing on Ouija board. They invite a spirit that we have already introduced in the beginning of the play. The mom is able to sense the spirit and the spirit senses the mom and is afraid of her.
As strange events start happening and misfortune begins to descend on the happy family, the mom is able to protect her nest and gets rid of the evil.
Muhafiz is the story of every home in Pakistan, where “maan ki Dua” is the ultimate source for success, strength and good luck. We believe that the mothers have a physic bond with the children, they have the gift of premonition, mothers are the symbol of kindness, consideration, morality, righteousness, spirituality and affection.
